The Arc Marion Receives $25K Energy Award from SECO Energy for Interactive Therapeutic Technology

Grant to Fund Tover Interactive Projectors Enhancing Engagement for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

The Arc Marion, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has been awarded a $25,000 grant from SECO Energy.

This funding will enable the organization to acquire two Tover interactive projectors, innovative tools designed to enhance engagement and improve the quality of life for their participants.

The Tover systems come equipped with specialized games and programs aimed at stimulating cognition, encouraging movement, promoting social interaction, and reducing agitation among individuals with cognitive impairments.

"We are incredibly grateful to SECO Energy for believing in our mission and investing in technology that directly improves the lives of the people we serve," said Rhonda Kincaid, Community Coordinator for The Arc Marion.

"These interactive projectors will create opportunities for joy, connection, and engagement for our participants—many of whom benefit greatly from sensory-based and movement-driven activities."

The addition of these projectors aligns with The Arc Marion’s commitment to innovation and person-centered support, empowering individuals of all abilities to thrive.

SECO Energy, a member-owned electric cooperative serving Central Florida, continues to invest in community initiatives that enhance the quality of life for local residents.

In recent years, SECO Energy has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting local organizations.

For instance, in March 2023, the SECO Energy Foundation approved a grant of $5,319 to benefit public safety for Marion County Fire Rescue.

This grant was used to equip fire engines with updated materials, enhancing the department's ability to respond to emergencies and protect the community.

Additionally, in April 2024, the SECO Energy Foundation approved $200,000 in community grants to various charitable organizations, including the Central Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America, and Habitat for Humanity Lake-Sumter.

These grants have been instrumental in supporting initiatives that improve the quality of life in communities served by SECO Energy.

The Arc Marion's recent grant is part of SECO Energy's ongoing efforts to invest in organizations that make a positive impact in the community.

By providing funding for innovative technologies like the Tover interactive projectors, SECO Energy is helping to create meaningful, interactive experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities.
