Ocala Introduces Free Downtown Trolley Service |
O-Line Trolley Offers Convenient Access to Downtown Attractions |
Starting September 18, Ocala residents and visitors can enjoy the new O-Line Trolley, a complimentary service designed to enhance access to downtown's vibrant attractions.
Operating Wednesday through Saturday, the trolley runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m., completing a full loop approximately every 30 minutes. This route connects key public parking areas, popular shopping and dining districts, and notable landmarks, making downtown exploration both convenient and enjoyable.
During the initial phase, a SunTran bus will temporarily cover the route, allowing riders to familiarize themselves with the service. The official O-Line Trolley vehicle is slated for debut in early 2026.
Riders can board at designated stops or simply signal the driver to hop on, eliminating the hassle of finding parking and providing a scenic alternative to driving.
Tom Duncan, City of Ocala transit administrator, expressed enthusiasm about the new service, stating, "This is a convenient way to experience everything our historic downtown has to offer."
The public is encouraged to utilize the O-Line Trolley during this soft launch phase, which will help the city fine-tune the service ahead of its full launch in 2026.
