Local resident wins grand prize in Gold Rush Multiplier game |
David Keith Rubin, an Ocala resident, has claimed a $15 million prize from the Florida Lottery's Gold Rush Multiplier scratch-off game.
Rubin purchased the winning ticket at the Circle K located at 5201 S Pine Avenue in Ocala.
Opting for a lump-sum payout, he received $8,968,000.
Initially, Rubin's identity was withheld under Florida Statute 24.1051, which exempts the disclosure of lottery winners' names for 90 days when prizes exceed $250,000.
His name became public in September.
The Gold Rush Multiplier game, introduced in September 2024, offered four top prizes of $15 million, all of which have now been claimed.
The odds of winning one of these top prizes were 1 in 5,476,290.
Rubin joins a growing list of Marion County residents who have recently won significant lottery prizes.
In May, a 47-year-old Ocala woman claimed a $1 million prize from a scratch-off ticket purchased in the city.
Less than a month prior, an Ocala man won $1 million from a ticket bought at a local 7-Eleven.
Additionally, a 57-year-old Marion County woman attributed her $1 million win to a lucky dime she found outside a local store.
These consecutive wins have brought excitement to the Ocala community, highlighting the potential life-changing impact of the Florida Lottery.
As more residents try their luck, the community remains hopeful for future winners. |
