Marion County to Break Ground on New Fire Station in North Ocala

Upcoming Facility Aims to Enhance Emergency Services for Lowell Community

Marion County officials are set to break ground on a new fire station in north Ocala next week.

The ceremony for Marion County Fire Rescue's Lowell Station #11 is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, at 10 a.m., on the campus of the Florida State Fire College.

Located at 11655 NW Gainesville Road, the new facility will be developed by Ocala-based Dinkins Construction.

According to MCFR, this milestone represents a major step forward in enhancing fire and EMS coverage for the Lowell community and strengthening their partnership with Florida's premier fire training institution.

Currently, the county operates approximately 30 fire stations, including volunteer facilities.

Earlier this year, MCFR celebrated the grand opening of Citra Station #2 at 2189 NE 180th Lane, replacing the previous facility at the same site.
